LOUDOUN COUNTY REAL ESTATE LOCAL FACTS
Loudoun County real estate includes several towns and villages in addition to Leesburg, the County Seat. Within these towns and villages are large tracks of farm land, park land, government and private acreage, all connected by a series of roads and major highways. Generally, areas east of Route 15 are considered "urban", while areas west of Route 15 are considered "rural". For Loudoun County real estate descriptions, this means that the areas east of Route 15 are "small lot" developments (1/4 acre average) while the areas west of Route 15 are "large lot" areas (one acre or more). In the past few years, Loudoun County has brought some small lot development to the towns of Purcellville and Lovettsville and other towns and villages west of Route 15. Purcellville offers several communities with small lot home sites and Lovettsville has recently approved development of small lot home sites in the "New Town of Lovettsville".
